Receiving recognition for your work in the medical field is an accomplishment; something that Dr. Susan Lim has earned throughout her career. However, when asked to share knowledge with thousands of others in the medical community, it is truly a great honor. For Dr. Susan Lim, surgery was the beginning of a life of recognition. Yet to her, becoming a surgeon was the most important thing that she could do for her patients, doctors and others around the world suffering from diseases and cancer.
27th HUGO-IABCR Congress 2010 - Invited Speaker
Dr. Susan Lim of Singapore was invited to speak at the 27th conference coordinated by the Human Genome Organisation and the International Association of Breast Cancer Research. The conference digs into the cross-section of Genomics and breast cancer research. At the conference, Dr. Susan Lim's topic focused on women that have a recurrence of cancer after having lumpectomies. She spoke on the possible connection between her stem cell hypothesis and cancer recurrence.
Dr. Susan Lim - Workshop On Management of Breast Cancer Through Surgery
While at the HUGO-IABCR, Dr. Susan Lim led a workshop entitled, 'Surgical Management of Breast Cancer.' The international workshop was held in Biopolis, Singapore. Dr. Susan Lim, of Singapore, was right at home lecturing on the subject. She has been involved in several teaching and lecturing assignments while serving as an adjunct professor at National University of Singapore.
For Dr. Susan Lim, surgery opened up a world of opportunity to change lives and to help others to do the same. She enjoys every opportunity that she is given.
